People with, or at risk of having, diabetes need to gain the knowledge and skills to modify their behavior and successfully self-manage the disease to improve their health outcomes. Healthy eating, self-monitoring of blood glucose levels (SMBG), and medication adherence are important aspects of risk reduction behavior. Effective management requires patients to understand and use appropriate technologies for glucose level monitoring and medication compliance (insulin and pills).
DIABNEXT will provide to some organizations previously authorized by DIABNEXT Diabetes Global Study Committee free connected devices and free access to DIABNEXT’s patients and profesional Diabetes Management software platforms. The devices to be utilized in the study include the GLUCONEXT for recording blood glucose levels, the CLIPSULIN for insulin injection tracking, and the VIGICAP for monitoring pill-taking adherence. All of the data will be automatically filled into the logbooks on the patients’ smartphone apps, eliminating any manual data entry.
